Welcome to Akari Health

Care that starts with listening

Every body tells a different story. That's why your care at Akari Health begins with a thorough consultation and assessment — not a one-size-fits-all adjustment. We take the time to understand what's driving your discomfort before we recommend anything.

Our approach is gentle, evidence-informed and tailored to you, whether you're managing a long-standing issue, recovering from an injury, or simply want to move and feel better day to day.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a GP referral to see a chiropractor?

No. Chiropractors are primary healthcare professionals in Australia, so you can book directly with us — no referral needed. Chiropractic care is also covered by most leading private health funds.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is a non-invasive approach to musculoskeletal health. Our chiropractors use gentle techniques tailored to your needs and comfort level, and will always discuss your care with you before proceeding.

What happens on my first visit?

Your first visit includes a detailed consultation and physical assessment. If treatment is appropriate on the day, we'll discuss it with you first. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what we found and a recommended plan.

What's the 'cracking' sound during an adjustment?

That sound is called cavitation — a rapid pressure change of gas bubbles in the fluid of your joints, similar to cracking your knuckles. It's normal and not a sign of anything breaking or grinding.

Is chiropractic suitable for children and during pregnancy?

We use gentle, modified techniques appropriate for different ages and stages, including during pregnancy. Let us know your situation when booking and we'll tailor your care accordingly.

How are chiropractors trained and regulated in Australia?

Australian chiropractors complete a five-year university degree covering clinical training, anatomy, neurology and radiology, and must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
