How we help

Sports injuries

Getting injured is frustrating. Getting re-injured because you went back too early is worse. Our job is getting you back to your sport — and helping you stay there.

Understanding sports injuries

Whether you've rolled an ankle, strained a hamstring, or developed a niggle that won't leave you alone, the principles are the same: assess properly, manage load intelligently, and return to sport in stages rather than in hope. We work with everyone from weekend park runners to competitive athletes, and we'll coordinate with your GP, physio or coach when your situation calls for it.

Common signs & symptoms

  • Acute injuries — strains, sprains and impact injuries from sport
  • Overuse niggles that build with training and ease with rest
  • Recurring injuries that keep coming back in the same spot
  • Stiffness or pain that's limiting your performance
  • Loss of confidence in a previously injured area
When to seek urgent care: Suspected fractures, joints that gave way with a pop and rapid swelling, or an inability to bear weight need prompt medical imaging and assessment.

Common causes

Load spikes

Sudden jumps in training volume or intensity are the most common story behind overuse injury.

Previous injury

The strongest predictor of injury is a previous one — often due to incomplete rehabilitation.

Movement restrictions

Stiff joints upstream or downstream force other tissues to take load they're not built for.

Recovery deficit

Sleep, stress and recovery habits directly affect how well tissue adapts to training.

How we help

Your care starts with a thorough consultation and physical assessment to identify what's driving your symptoms. From there, we build a plan around you — which may include chiropractic adjustments (traditional or low-force), soft tissue therapy, targeted home exercises, and practical advice for your daily routine. We review your progress regularly, explain everything in plain language, and refer you for imaging or to other practitioners whenever that's the better path.

Good to know

Sports injuries: your questions answered

When can I return to sport?

When the injured tissue has the capacity for your sport's demands — not just when it stops hurting at rest. We use staged milestones (comfortable daily activity, then training drills, then full intensity) so your return is based on evidence, not guesswork.

Chiropractor or physio for a sports injury?

There's genuine overlap, and good practitioners in both professions manage sports injuries well. Our strength is combining joint-focused treatment with rehabilitation and load advice. If we think another practitioner would serve you better at any stage, we'll refer you — your recovery matters more than keeping the appointment.

Why does my old injury keep coming back?

Usually because rehab stopped at 'pain-free' rather than 'fully reconditioned'. Pain settles well before strength, control and confidence return. We look for what was left unfinished — restricted joints, strength gaps, movement habits — and close the loop.
