How we help
Your neck balances the weight of your head all day, every day. When it's painful or stiff, everything from checking blind spots to sleeping comfortably becomes hard work.
Neck pain has become one of the defining complaints of the screen era, but it's not new — and it's rarely 'just something you have to live with'. Most neck pain comes from the joints and muscles of the neck itself, which means it can be assessed, treated and managed well.
Hours of looking down at phones and screens multiplies the effective weight of your head on your neck.
The small joints of the neck can become stiff and irritated, limiting movement and causing local pain.
Stress and static positions cause the neck and shoulder muscles to guard and tighten.
Whiplash and sporting injuries can leave lingering stiffness and sensitivity long after the initial event.
Your care starts with a thorough consultation and physical assessment to identify what's driving your symptoms. From there, we build a plan around you — which may include chiropractic adjustments (traditional or low-force), soft tissue therapy, targeted home exercises, and practical advice for your daily routine. We review your progress regularly, explain everything in plain language, and refer you for imaging or to other practitioners whenever that's the better path.
Good to know
We take neck care seriously. Your assessment screens for anything that would make particular techniques unsuitable, and we have a range of approaches — from traditional adjustments to very gentle low-force and mobilisation techniques. You'll always know what we're recommending and why, and nothing happens without your consent.
Awkward sleeping positions and unsupportive pillows are common triggers, but they usually expose an underlying stiffness that was already there. We treat the acute episode and address the underlying restriction so it's less likely to keep happening.
Yes — cervicogenic headaches arise from the joints and muscles of the upper neck, and tension-type headaches often have a neck component. If your headaches start at the base of the skull or worsen with neck positions, the neck is worth assessing.
