Your first visit
New places and new practitioners can feel like a leap — so here's your first appointment, start to finish. No surprises, no pressure, and nothing happens without your say-so.
Step by step
~10 minutes before your appointment
Arrive a little early to complete a short intake form covering your health history and what's brought you in. Bring your health fund card, and any recent scans or reports if you have them.
The conversation
We sit down together and talk — about your symptoms, your history, your work and lifestyle, and what you want to get back to. This conversation shapes everything, so we never rush it.
The examination
A thorough physical examination: how you move, where you're restricted, and targeted orthopaedic and neurological tests where relevant. If imaging would genuinely change your care, we'll refer you — X-rays aren't a routine step.
Plain language, no jargon
We walk you through what we found and what it means — in words that make sense, not medical shorthand. You'll have every chance to ask questions, and we'd rather you ask ten than leave with one.
If appropriate on the day
In most cases, treatment begins at this first visit — using techniques suited to your body and comfort level, from traditional adjustments to gentle low-force methods. Nothing happens without your consent, and you can ask us to pause or explain at any point.
Before you leave
You'll leave with a clear recommendation: what we suggest, how often, and what you can do at home to help. We review progress regularly rather than locking you into open-ended plans — and if you're not improving as expected, we change course.
Be prepared
Our promises
Every technique is explained before it happens, and you can ask us to pause, slow down or explain at any point. Your comfort leads the appointment.
If chiropractic care isn't the right fit for your situation, we'll say so — and point you to the practitioner who is. No open-ended plans, no pressure.
You'll leave understanding what we found, what we recommend and why. If something isn't clear, that's on us to fix — just ask.
Good to know
Allow around 45 minutes for your initial consultation and assessment. Follow-up visits are typically shorter. We deliberately don't rush first appointments — understanding your situation properly is the foundation of everything that follows.
In most cases, yes — if our assessment shows treatment is appropriate and you're comfortable proceeding, we'll begin on the day. If we need imaging first, or if we believe another practitioner is the better fit, we'll explain why and arrange the referral instead.
Comfortable clothing you can move in — activewear or loose casual clothes are ideal. You won't need to change into a gown for a standard appointment.
No referral is needed — chiropractors are primary healthcare practitioners in Australia. If you have recent X-rays, scans or reports, bring them along, but don't organise new imaging beforehand. We'll refer you if it's clinically needed.
If your private health extras cover includes chiropractic, yes. We have HICAPS available for on-the-spot claims — just bring your health fund card and you'll only pay the gap.
